Public transportation is one of the main goals of a developing city. The result was the solution that reduced the length of congestion in almost all directions, with a maximum shortening of 69 m and a shortening of the average delay by 26 s compared to the current state. Multi-criteria decision-making was realized based on 12 criteria. ![]() The paper compares five possible solutions for the organization of transport at intersections. However, this procedure can also be used to solve other problems in the field of logistics systems. The paper notes methods to implement analysis of alternative solutions in transport. The methodology is based on a combination of computer simulation and multi-criteria decision-making and presents a useful tool that can be used in the field of transport sustainability. The simulation model serves as a means to provide information for the needs of their analysis by multi-criteria evaluation by the AHP. The aim is to address the problem of traffic congestion in urban agglomerations. The paper describes the use of the simulation model for obtaining characteristics of alternative solutions that were designed for the needs of transport sustainability. The obtained results from the realized simulation were complemented with the selected multi-criteria decision-making method, namely the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method. The paper is focused on an example of a solution for the sustainability of transport and mobility with the application of discrete computer simulation. Furthermore, if policy makers are serious about accelerating the diffusion of alternative fuels, they should aim at creating stable policy environment. ![]() This paper concludes that, due to presence of uncertainties, the decision maker (public transport fleet manager) can take only incremental steps that will allow him or her to safeguard investments. The objective of this paper is to develop an analytical framework that will give us more insight into the trends in emissions standards as well as technology development, and eventually translate these insights into a sound investment decision making strategy. Decision making for the investment in alternative fuel buses is dependent on future technological development and emissions standards, and it is difficult, given the uncertainty in regards to both these factors. As such, they are good candidates for achieving both near-term and long-term emission reductions. Public transport buses are high usage vehicles that operate in heavily congested areas where air quality improvements and reductions in public exposure to harmful air contaminants are critical. Cleaner and less polluting public transport buses based on alternative fuels are of paramount importance if cities are to attain their ambitious emissions reduction targets. ![]()
